this article came out in boston news this morning but was on the wire last night before i went to sleep. disturbing...as a rule of thumb i don't really talk bible while my wife is the kitchen. but there's been some fun flying with it on shoey's post.
woman pours oil on boyfriend's face over bible argument...
EUGENE, Ore. -- A woman is accused of pouring boiling oil on her boyfriend's face in an argument over a Bible verse.
Angela S. Morris, 19, was charged with domestic violence assault and jailed on $250,000 bail. Her 31-year-old boyfriend, whose name was not released, was hospitalized with severe burns on his face, neck and chest.
The two were reading the Bible at the boyfriend's apartment May 13 when Morris went to the kitchen to prepare french fries, police said.
Morris told police that they continued to argue and that her boyfriend grabbed her from behind. Police said he then went to his bedroom to lie down. Morris followed and threw the oil on him, police said.
now that's some serious bible study. a few thoughts....
-- what's a 31 yr old man doing with a 19 yr old anyway? not that age is a thing for me...but u do wonder.
-- what verse were they arguing over? could it have been, "wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands" -- 1 peter 3:1 -- lesson...don't mess with those verses when doing devotions together with your significant others. approach with some serious consideration and humility.
-- here's a verse that she may have considered and took to heart..."take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head." exodus 29:7
